The Goal of this Site, and Team Behind it
Our mission is to make it as easy as possible for you to solve all your plumbing problems and find the best plumbing products for your home.
Hello DIYers, homeowners, and people who have plumbing issues to figure out! We’re glad you’re here. Welcome to MyPlumbingDIY.com. This website will be dedicated to covering every possible topic related to Plumbing, including:
- Buying and maintaining your faucets
- Sinks: How to clean, unclog, and fix issues
- Toilet guides: Picking the right toilet size and troubleshooting problems
- Bathroom exhaust fans
- And more! Saunas, Plumber’s putty, water descalers, and filters!
I started this site because I wanted to help people fix their everyday plumbing issues. Nothing is worse than having to call a plumber to fix small issues like a leaky faucet or a toilet that won’t stop running! I’m way too frugal to pay someone every time a small issue comes up.
We have an expert team of DIY experts and plumbers who review every article. Our hope is that every single article you read on our site is the most helpful guide on the topic. We want to become the ultimate resource for the average person trying to fix their plumbing problems.
We recently published our first set of articles focused on comparing different faucet brands.
Here are some of our favorite articles on our site:
- Moen vs Delta vs Kohler: Which Faucet Brand is the Best?
- What’s the difference between Grohe and Hansgrohe?
- Which brand is better, Moen or Delta?
Our Unique Philosophy on Reviewing Products
We also know how frustrating it can be to research appliances and plumbing products online. How do you know if this will fit your bathroom? How do you know if it will match the rest of your design? How do you know which product is truly the best?
We have a unique approach to product research that’s both qualitative and quantitative. We love to personally buy and test products as much as possible so that we can provide real, first-hand experiences. There’s something about putting our hands on something that lets us know whether we can recommend it or not.
But we don’t want to rely on just our anecdotal experience. That’s why we aggregate reviews from all over the internet, Amazon, and brand websites. We do deep dive comparisons into product specs in the criteria that matter most.
Our goal is that you never have to return a product that we recommend because it was exactly what you were looking for!
Picking the best products for your kitchen & bathroom can be hard, but we’re making it as easy as possible! If you’re looking for honest, accurate, and helpful information, save the stress and time of deciding what to buy with My Plumbing DIY.
If you have any comments, questions or feedback concerning anything on this site, please reach out to us via our contact page. We will answer everything as best we can.
The Team at My Plumbing DIY
Richmond Howard
Founder and Chief Editor
Richmond took over running the website Plumber Spot in April of 2021. In October of 2022, he rebranded the site into My Plumbing DIY. He saw the potential to make this the #1 resource in the world for solving every day plumbing problems. He’s not a DIY expert, but he’s too frugal to pay a plumber to fix every issue.
Richmond works full-time as a pastor in Houston, TX and manages websites on the side.
He and his wife spent the first part of their marriage living in an old, run-down apartment because they were trying to save money to buy their first house. The apartment had a ton of issues and was constantly falling apart giving them way more experience in fixing stuff than they’d ever want. In 2018 they moved into their first house and have spent the last few years slowly fixing up and renovating it. His wife is the DIY expert and absolutely loves a good home project.
Richmond regularly contributes to this site as an author, is the lead content strategist, and chief editor. He manages a rotating team of contributors, writers, and plumbing experts. You can follow him on Instagram and Twitter.
